Fraser Play school is a community owned, parent-run cooperative program for children 3-4 years of age. Classes are held in the Fraser Community League Hall located 14720-21 Street. We are a self-funded, non-profit organization supported by registration fees and fundraising activities.
The Play school provides a quality preschool program that enhances the overall development of children through the creation of a positive self- concept, encouraging a love of learning and developing the skills to play and interact cooperatively in a group setting. These objectives are fulfilled through a "learn through play" environment with an emphasis on the social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual development of each child. By providing a "learn through play" environment, each child can learn to develop at an individual pace while still benefiting from being part of a group.

Within an environment that is safe, friendly and stimulating, the children are provided with " free play" time. The child may choose his or her own area to play with toys, puzzles or games, the activity centers, participate in a craft or select a quiet area for reading or just being alone. During circle time, the children are singing, group discussions and stories that enable them to learn about themselves and the world. The teacher will provide good supervision and guidance at all times, encouraging participation and praising achievements and good behavior. To accentuate the learning and fun environment of the Play school, students will experience field trips. In addition, all special occasions and holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day ect. Will be celebrated with parties or special activities. Outside play is also an important part of the curriculum.
